Formative Instructional Practice (FIP)

Formative Instructional Practices (FIP)

FIP is an instructional practice focused on student learning and understanding.  Informal and formal data is collected during the learning so that the teacher can differentiate, support, or adjust the teaching to meet the needs of all students.

The Ohio Department of Education has FIP modules designed to assist districts, schools, and teachers in implementing these researched based best practices.

The Ohio Improvement Process (OIP) and the Ohio Leadership Advisory Council (OLAC) work all align and are built from sound educational research.
