Description:
Module 1: Participants will learn about the relationship between a child's social emotional development and challenging behavior including how challenging behavior serves a function for children. Learn strategies that can be used to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues; design environments, schedules and routines; structure transitions; help children learn rules and routines and plan activities that promote engagement.
Module 2: Participants will be able to discuss why it is important to be more intentional about teaching social emotional skills, identify strategies for supporting the development of friendship skills, define emotional literacy and identify activities that build "feeling vocabularies."
Module 3: Learn prevention strategies that you can use in your classroom environment to help reduce persistent challenging behavior. EIGHTEEN HOUR VERSION
