Phonemic awareness is the most potent predictor of success in learning to read. In this session, participants will be introduced to the Heggerty curriculum, which focuses on phonemic awareness instruction, including the scope and sequence of developing phonemic awareness skills. Participants will learn how to implement the curriculum in the PreK-2nd grade classroom and will have the opportunity to practice the explicit modeling skills in this session as they would with young students.
