This website was written and designed by Dr. Maria Sargent a professor at Ashland University. Dr. Sargent is known for her cross-disciplinary work training professionals in medicine, psychology, the arts and the legal sector, in addition to the expected audience of educators. The material she has put together on this website is intended to help educators gain an understanding of children who are presenting difficulties in learning. These can manifest in many ways. She brings to light how children can be impacted by a multitude of learning challenges and ways in which we can better help them learn. As educators, our understanding of what can affect learning is critical to solving learning struggles for our students.
