State Support Teams were created by the Ohio Department of Education as a result of H.B, 115. Sixteen regions were established with a State Support Team in each region. State Support Team Region 2 is one of those 16 State Support Teams in Ohio that are responsible for the delivery of regional services. State Support Teams provide high quality professional development on research based practices proven to improve achievement for all students, including children with disabilities and children at risk for school failure. State Support Team consultants provide professional development and focused technical assistance on a variety of topics, including but not limited to, special education, school improvement, preschool, Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports, and transition. Our services are provided to educators and families in Erie, Huron and Lorain counties at no charge. The State Support Teams are part of a unified system of support that meaningfully connects research based processes to the work of early intervention and prevention, early learning and development and special education with a focus on improving instructional practices and student performance on an on-going basis.
We recognize the importance of family and school collaboration and aim to facilitate this within our region via parent trainings, website resources, and ongoing technical assistance to families and parents. Educators and parents should feel free to contact us at any time with questions.
State Support Team Region 2 (SST 2) continues to provide high quality technical assistance and professional development, in order to assist districts in developing the capacity to fully implement research-based process and educational practices that result in data based decisions. State Support Team Region 2 offers diverse opportunities for professional growth for all educators, families and agencies interested in the education of children.
